I at first thought well it?s kinda weird it?s at someone house, we got there and it was just my mom and I. Joe was awesome! Super friendly, kind, he has a nice spot right by the front door at a big table that you can sit down and do the art. Also has bathrooms readily available! Had really good conversations, laughs, learning! I really enjoyed his company & the art side of it!

Joe was great! Being I was the only student for him that day, it was a great 1:1 experience. Joe was very knowledgeable and talented in the field of comic art and provided great insight into the business.

Title or Location: Wood Duck in Color
Female wood ducks have a characteristic white teardrop shaped eye and a tuft of flipped feathers at the back of their neck. They are a mushroom brown with touches of white, orange and iridescent blue and green. They make their nests in trees to protect their clutches from predators and the ducklings must jump out of the tree when they go swimming for the first time!

Title or Location: Three Yellows
I am a sketcher of interesting places. I have filled many sketchbooks over the years. One of my favorite places is around the Amana Colonies in eastern Iowa. This old barn was down an old path that was guarded by a small grove of evergreen and ash trees. I did a small watercolor of it and used that as the basis of this studio painting.

Title or Location: 598 Inward Journey
With my modern cubist women watercolor works, I strive to convey a subtle mood that resonates within proud women, inviting the viewer to delve into the introspective journey, revealing the strength that emanates from within. My goal is to leave a lasting legacy with art. This is made possible through the use of archival pigments and cotton paper, ensuring the lasting quality of my work. I finish each piece with a painted black ribbon as a constant reminder of my parents' memory, who never had th

Title or Location: Playful Koi
Of a large flower garden in my backyard, that I renovated myself. In the garden, one of the features is a waterfall and very small pond with Koi fish. They are the inspiration to this painting. I love to walk out in the mornings with my coffee and watch them play. They chase each other around in the pond, and it brings a smile to my face.

Title or Location: Colors of fall
This piece was inspired by my local park. I always take a walk down through the park and we have a river running alongside. At one point there is a river bend and you can stand and watch the water flow down around the corner. It was the inspiration to this painting, called colors of fall.

Title or Location: Titus -son 2 of 3
I had done a previous painting on my own of son 1 which the parents insisted on purchasing. Then came son 2 and when he could mount a horse I was commissioned to paint the portrait. This portrait will be especially valued by the mom because the horse has been her?s for a long time. She wanted it in the portrait because it?s advanced age. Son 3 has also arrived so I foresee another painting coming.

Title or Location: Spirit of Autumn (In Moonlight)
I just wanted a kind of haunting moonlit fall scene with a tree overlooking a babbling little creek with a couple of small waterfalls. This is one of my favorite paintings that I have painted since I started painting in February.

Title or Location: Smell the rain?
Oil sketch, 11?x14?. This is my first attempt with oils after a 38 year career as an exhibit designer. Started with quick turp washes, then built up some detail. I was going to continue, but I kind of like it the way it is. Anxious to start another, and having fun.

Title or Location: Wooden Wave
This piece is acrylic on wood. I used some scrap pieces I had cut from the end of a wooden board I was using. The actual wave and cliff are from where the knot in the board had separated. As soon as I saw it I knew what I was going to do with it. This is two pieces of wood, individually painted and then screwed together. I love upcycling these scraps.
